Abilene Scout Earns Eagle Honor

Andy Benson received the Eagle Scout award
at a special Court of Honor May 31 at the Disability
Resources, Inc. boardroom.
Benson attends Eagle Charter School and is
a member of Boy Scout Troop 206, sponsored by
Kiwanis Club of Abilene. He has earned 22 merit
badges and has served as patrol leader, troop
guide and chaplain’s aide. He is an ordeal
member in Order of the Arrow.
As his community service project, Benson supervised
a crew that built a half-mile walking trail
for at Disability Resources, Inc.. They had
to clear a path through brush and debris, bring
in and unload supplies and pave the trail.
Benson works part time at Garden World and
enjoys hunting and biking in his spare time.
He is a member of North Side Baptist Church.
He is the son of Becky and Gene Moody and Brad
and Janie Benson.
